Baris Education and Culture Foundation was founded in 2001 by a group of Turkish-Australians who wished to contribute to the community, particularly in the field of education. In 2006, the Foundation established Damla College, naming the new school after the Turkish word for ‘droplet’. The founding principle of the College was to raise morally and socially responsible students academically equipped to be contributing citizens. When it opened, Damla College had an enrolment of 33 students.
The successful implementation of its founding idea expanded the college’s reach, attracting families from many different communities. In recognition of this impressive growth and widening of focus, Damla College was re-named in 2016 and became Fountain College.
